Mazda unveils All-Electric Mazda CX-6e

Mazda Australia has confirmed it will expand its battery-electric lineup with the arrival of the all-new Mazda CX-6e, an all-electric crossover SUV scheduled to join the local range in 2026.

Making its global debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2026, the CX-6e represents Mazda’s next step into electrification — one that’s designed to feel unmistakably Mazda, rather than simply another EV entrant.

Electric, But Still Jinba-Ittai

The CX-6e adopts Mazda’s latest “FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN” Kodo design philosophy, blending sculpted proportions and clean surfacing with modern electric architecture. It’s a more progressive evolution of Mazda’s Soul of Motion language, but one that still prioritises harmony between car and driver.

Mazda says the CX-6e has been developed to deliver its signature Jinba-Ittai driving experience, now reinterpreted for a fully electric drivetrain — focusing on balance, responsiveness and intuitive control rather than headline figures alone.

A Milestone for Mazda Australia

Mazda Australia Managing Director Vinesh Bhindi described the CX-6e’s local confirmation as a significant moment for the brand.

“Confirming the Mazda CX-6e for the Australian market is a monumental moment for Mazda Australia,” Bhindi said.
“It adds yet another compelling option for our customers and further strengthens our multi-solution approach.

“This is not just another EV — it’s a Mazda through and through.”

According to Mazda, the CX-6e’s bold design, craftsmanship and driving dynamics are intended to reassure loyal customers that electrification doesn’t mean sacrificing brand identity.

Part of Mazda’s Broader EV Strategy

Following the recent confirmation of the Mazda 6e, the CX-6e becomes the second fully electric Mazda developed in collaboration with Chongqing Changan Automobile to be locked in for the Australian market.

The move reflects Mazda’s growing multi-solution electrification strategy, offering a mix of internal combustion, hybrid and fully electric vehicles to meet changing customer expectations — rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.

The Big Picture

With the CX-6e, Mazda is making it clear that its electric future won’t abandon the qualities that have defined the brand for decades. Instead, it’s aiming to translate Zoom-Zoom into a new era — quietly, confidently, and with a strong focus on how the car feels behind the wheel.

More local specification details for the Mazda CX-6e will be confirmed closer to its Australian arrival in 2026.
