Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Debuts at Goodwood

Hyundai’s N division has officially pulled the wraps off its next all-electric performance flagship — the IONIQ 6 N — at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, signaling another major step in the brand’s high-voltage evolution.

Following the track-tuned IONIQ 5 N, the new IONIQ 6 N brings a sharper, sleeker silhouette to Hyundai’s electric performance lineup. But make no mistake — this is more than just a fast EV. It’s Hyundai’s answer to how electric cars should feel on the road and on the track.

478kW of Purpose-Built Power

At the heart of the IONIQ 6 N lies Hyundai N’s core philosophy: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar. And it delivers on all three.

Thanks to dual electric motors pushing 478kW and 770Nm (with N Grin Boost engaged), the IONIQ 6 N rockets from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Top speed? 257 km/h — numbers that plant it firmly in super-sedan territory.

Performance is managed by Hyundai’s N Battery thermal control system and an upgraded battery conditioning suite that adapts to track conditions — from sprints to endurance sessions — to keep the EV consistently delivering peak output.

Aero Meets Aggression

The IONIQ 6 N builds on the existing IONIQ 6’s slippery form with a bold, motorsport-inspired edge:

  • A dramatic swan-neck rear wing

  • Wider fenders and performance intakes

  • New Performance Blue Pearl paint with depth-enhancing metallic finish

  • Bold aero upgrades that improve downforce and stability

Under the skin, Hyundai has completely reworked the suspension geometry, lowered the roll centre, and fitted stroke-sensing ECS dampers — delivering sharper responses when pushed and real comfort in daily use.

A New Era of EV Driver Involvement

One of the most compelling elements of the IONIQ 6 N isn’t just how fast it is — but how connected it feels.

  • N e-Shift: Simulated paddle-shift control with motorsport-style gear logic

  • N Active Sound+: Customisable sound profiles, from Ignition (ICE-inspired) to Lightspeed (sci-fi tech thriller)

  • N Ambient Shift Light: Interior lighting that syncs with shift points

  • N Drift Optimizer: Adjustable drift settings for angle, slip, and control

  • N Track Manager: Create custom tracks, view ghost laps, and analyse your session in real-time

Hyundai N has gone all in on making EV performance feel as alive and rewarding as its petrol predecessors.

Goodwood: The Global Stage

The IONIQ 6 N made its global debut in style, climbing the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb alongside the full Hyundai N lineup, including the IONIQ 5 N TA Spec, RN24e concept, WRC rally cars, and the new 6 N Drift Spec.

Hyundai’s dedicated N display at the festival featured:

  • An interactive stamp tour that gave visitors exclusive grandstand access

  • Hands-on views of N performance parts and EV tech

  • An “N Moment” demo run scheduled for July 10, with the full N family taking to the track in unison

Final Word

With the launch of the IONIQ 6 N, Hyundai isn’t just keeping up with the future — it’s setting the pace.

It’s fast, it’s engaging, and it’s proof that the EV era doesn’t have to be quiet, clinical, or dull. In fact, it might just be the most exciting chapter yet.
