Ferrari Amalfi Spider Revealed

Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, a new V8 2+ open-top model designed to blend contemporary sportiness with everyday versatility. With its front-mid-mounted engine and fabric soft top, the Amalfi Spider delivers Ferrari’s signature performance while adding the distinctive appeal of open-air driving.

Positioned within Ferrari’s range as a dynamic yet usable grand touring spider, the Amalfi Spider is aimed at drivers seeking an engaging driving experience without sacrificing comfort or refinement. The model combines strong performance with the practicality expected of a 2+ configuration, while the open-top layout enhances the connection between driver, road and surroundings.

The design retains the elegant proportions of the Amalfi coupé, maintaining a flowing silhouette even with the roof stowed. A fabric soft top replaces the retractable hardtop, reinforcing the car’s versatility while offering extensive personalisation options. Buyers can choose from four tailor-made fabric colours and two technical fabrics, including the new Tecnico Ottanio finish, while optional contrast stitching highlights both the sporting character and refined detailing.

The soft top opens in just 13.5 seconds and can be operated while driving at speeds of up to 60 km/h. When folded, the roof’s compact 220 mm packaging helps preserve luggage space, with capacity of 255 litres with the roof closed and 172 litres with it open. A five-layer acoustic fabric ensures sound and thermal insulation comparable to Ferrari’s retractable hardtop systems, maintaining comfort even during open-air driving.

Inside, the Amalfi Spider features a dual-cockpit layout and an updated driver interface. Physical buttons return to the steering wheel alongside the iconic start button, while a central display integrates key functions for both driver and passenger. The 2+ seating configuration increases practicality, allowing space for children or additional luggage. An integrated wind deflector, built into the rear bench backrest and operated electronically, reduces turbulence in open-top driving.

Stylistically, the Amalfi Spider adopts a fluid, minimalist design defined by sculpted surfaces and clean volumes. The front end is characterised by a wide air intake and a long, sculpted bonnet housing a 640 hp twin-turbo V8 engine. At the rear, an integrated active spoiler enhances high-speed stability, while forged wheels and carbon-fibre elements reinforce the car’s sporty aesthetic.

Designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, the Amalfi Spider continues Ferrari’s focus on combining performance and lifestyle appeal. The model also introduces a new colour, Rosso Tramonto, inspired by the evening hues of the Amalfi Coast and featuring subtle orange undertones that highlight the car’s sculpted bodywork.

Power comes from the latest evolution of Ferrari’s 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 from the F154 engine family, producing 640 hp at 7,500 rpm with a redline of 7,600 rpm. Enhancements include advanced turbocharger management, reduced engine mass and a new control unit architecture already used in recent Ferrari models. Power is delivered through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission derived from the system introduced on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

Aerodynamic development focused on delivering performance comparable to the coupé while ensuring comfort with the roof down. A range of airflow-management features, including vortex generators, underbody diffusers and an active rear wing with three operating modes, help balance downforce and drag. In its high-downforce configuration, the wing can generate up to 110 kg of additional load at 250 km/h.

The Amalfi Spider also benefits from Ferrari’s latest vehicle-dynamics technologies, including brake-by-wire and the ABS Evo system derived from the Ferrari 296 GTB and further developed for models such as the Ferrari Purosangue and Ferrari 12Cilindri. Integrated with the Side Slip Control 6.1 system, these technologies optimise braking, traction and stability across all driving conditions.

Standard tyres measure 245/35 R20 at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear, developed specifically for the model in collaboration with partners including Pirelli, Goodyear and Bridgestone.

Like all Ferrari models, the Amalfi Spider is supported by the company’s seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme, covering scheduled servicing and ensuring the vehicle continues to deliver peak performance throughout its early life.
